About JCC Project

Addressing Nepal's Environmental Challenges

Nepal is facing increasing environmental challenges, including improper waste management and illegal extraction of sand and gravel from riverbeds. Unregulated riverbed mining has led to riverbank erosion, loss of agricultural land, and heightened flood risks.

These issues are particularly severe near Panauti Village, Kavrepalanchok District, where communities are witnessing ecosystem destruction and threats to their livelihoods.

  • Riverbank erosion and loss of agricultural land
  • Heightened flood risks for communities
  • Threats to water sources and housing security
  • Disproportionate impact on women and marginalized farmers
